Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez has instructed the Light Rail Transit Authority to partner with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to deploy additional buses. This initiative aims to reduce passenger congestion at LRT-2 stations caused by a lack of operational train cars. Following directives from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure smooth transit for the public, Lopez conducted an inspection at the Antipolo Station. The secretary emphasized the necessity of these alternative transport measures to prevent delays for students and employees commuting to their daily destinations. The collaboration between the two agencies is intended to streamline the bus deployment process along existing rail routes, providing immediate relief to commuters while long-term solutions for the train fleet shortage are pursued.
