Authorities in Makwanpur intercepted a vehicle transporting 162 kilograms of marijuana early Tuesday morning in Manahari Rural Municipality. Acting on intelligence, officers from the local area police station stopped the car, which was carrying 13 plastic-wrapped packages of the illicit substance, while it traveled toward Kharanga. A second SUV suspected of escorting the transport was also identified by law enforcement. Although the occupants attempted to evade capture, police successfully apprehended two individuals involved in the operation. The suspects, identified as 56-year-old Dev Narayan Mahato and a 48-year-old associate, are currently in custody as investigations into the smuggling attempt continue.
