President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has stated that the Philippine government is actively preparing to mitigate the potential consequences of the anticipated Super El Niño. During the launch of the Tugbong Solar Pump Irrigation Project in Leyte, the President highlighted that improved water management strategies and upgraded irrigation infrastructure have significantly strengthened the nation's resilience against drought conditions compared to past instances. The administration is focusing on comprehensive water conservation efforts, including the construction of catchment facilities and the implementation of various storage techniques to minimize the impact of the dry spell. Previously, the President encouraged citizens to adopt simple water-saving habits, such as collecting rainwater, as part of a broader national strategy to manage water resources effectively during the expected climate event.
