On October 19, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman officially opened the July Memorial in Dhaka’s Osmani Udyan to honor those who lost their lives during the 2024 July Mass Uprising. The ceremony was attended by the families of four fallen individuals, including the parents of Abu Sayed, Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho, and Wasim Akram, as well as the mother of Shahriar Khan Anas. Standing 90 feet tall on a one-acre site, the memorial features laser-engraved names of 834 martyrs and 20 symbolic graves. Additionally, the Prime Minister unveiled the newly renovated 23-acre Osmani Udyan. This historic park has been transformed into a modern public space, offering enhanced greenery, improved pedestrian paths, and various recreational amenities for the benefit of Dhaka's residents.
