Displaced individuals from Timure, Rasuwa, are currently residing in a temporary shelter at Mustang Gumba in Swayambhu, Kathmandu, following devastating floods. Psychosocial counsellor Arpita Subba is providing support to these victims, who are grappling with profound loss and anxiety regarding their future. One young survivor, who lost both parents in the disaster, reached out to Subba to express her deep concerns about raising her younger brother, securing his education, and managing future financial burdens without familial support. This case highlights the severe emotional and economic challenges faced by those left vulnerable by the floods. Beyond the immediate grief of bereavement, these survivors must now navigate the daunting task of rebuilding their lives and finding sustainable sources of income while living in temporary conditions.
