Authorities in Myagdi district estimate that approximately 90 million rupees are necessary to restore the Beni-Darbang-Muna road following severe weather events. Heavy rainfall between September 23 and 27 triggered landslides, flooding, and river erosion, which compromised the infrastructure connecting the Mangala, Malika, and Dhaulagiri rural municipalities to the district headquarters. According to the local Infrastructure Development Office, damage was recorded at 22 distinct locations along the route. The destruction includes compromised road surfaces, retaining walls, gabion structures, and sections of blacktopped pavement. While a temporary track has been opened to restore connectivity, significant investment is required to fully reconstruct the damaged segments and ensure long-term stability for residents relying on this vital transport link.
