Tania, a student from Satkhira, faced the threat of child marriage immediately after finishing her secondary education. Despite the pressure of her impending wedding, she achieved a perfect GPA of 5 in her Secondary School Certificate examinations, securing top marks in chemistry and physics. Although these academic accomplishments were overshadowed by her personal distress regarding the marriage, the support of her educators combined with her impressive results enabled her to successfully halt the union. Her story highlights the ongoing challenges regarding child marriage in Bangladesh, coinciding with the observance of the International Day of the Girl Child, which focuses on protecting girls' rights and ending such practices.
