Starting October 12, the Singaporean Ministry of Health is implementing the Public Health Preparedness Clinic Scheme and the Haze Subsidy Scheme to assist citizens affected by deteriorating air quality. These initiatives aim to provide accessible medical care for specific conditions exacerbated by the haze, such as asthma, bronchitis, allergic rhinitis, and various respiratory infections. Participating private clinics and all public polyclinics will offer these services to eligible residents, including children, the elderly, and those within lower-to-middle income brackets. While all citizens can access subsidies at polyclinics, specific groups such as Public Assistance cardholders will receive full coverage for their treatments. Additionally, seniors belonging to the Pioneer and Merdeka Generation cohorts are entitled to capped out-of-pocket expenses for these haze-related consultations.
