The Vice President's camp had previously claimed that the Senate incurred 500 million pesos while processing two of the three withdrawn impeachment articles. Lacson disputed this figure, citing the General Appropriations Act, which indicates that the total budget allocated for such a trial was only 27 million pesos. The senator emphasized the need for transparency and accuracy, urging the Duterte camp to rectify what he characterized as a clearly misleading financial estimate regarding the legislative process.
