During an event titled “The Mark She Makes,” organized by the Al Qasimi Foundation for Emirati Women’s Day, two elderly citizens highlighted the foundational role women have played in the nation’s history. Maryam Saeed and Aisha Hamoud Rashid Al Ghafri emphasized that long before women entered modern professional and governmental leadership roles, they were essential pillars of their households and communities. According to these senior citizens, women historically shared the burdens of daily life and provided critical support to men, ensuring family stability during difficult periods. Their testimonies serve to document the enduring influence of Emirati women, illustrating that their contributions to the country’s development extend far beyond their current presence in the contemporary workforce and public sector.
