Acclaimed South Korean performer Youn Yuh-jung is no longer in contention for the Emmy Award for outstanding supporting actress in a limited or anthology series. The veteran actress, who previously achieved global recognition as the first Korean performer to secure an Academy Award for her performance in Minari, had received a nomination this past July. Her recognition stemmed from her portrayal of Chairwoman Park in the second season of the Netflix production Beef. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the organization responsible for managing the Emmy Awards, confirmed her departure from the current competition cycle. Youn remains a significant figure in international cinema and television following her historic achievements in the industry.
