Legal authorities in South Korea have requested a 27-year prison sentence for Jeong Myeong-seok, the 81-year-old head of the Christian Gospel Mission, also recognized as JMS. The prosecution's request follows allegations that Jeong committed approximately 80 acts of sexual assault against 16 female members of his organization. This development occurred during a final hearing at the Daejeon District Court, where prosecutors formally sought a conviction for charges including quasi-rape. Jeong is currently incarcerated, serving a 17-year sentence resulting from a previous conviction involving sexual offenses against three other female followers. The court is now expected to deliberate on the latest charges brought against the religious leader.
