The Supreme Court registry has identified over ten procedural deficiencies in a petition filed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and several opposition figures regarding alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Among the noted issues are a court fee deficit of ₹220, missing or illegible documentation, and a request for a clearer identification document for co-petitioner Mallikarjun Kharge. The petition, which names the Election Commission of India and its commissioners, calls for an independent audit of voter deletions led by a retired judge. It also requests the suspension of the current revision process and demands access to internal commission records, including access logs and meeting minutes. The petitioners argue that these measures are necessary to protect voter rights and ensure the integrity of the electoral process ahead of upcoming state elections.
