While recent data suggests the outbreak is stabilizing, officials anticipate the epidemic may persist through November. The government has procured a record 7.05 million vaccine doses, including specialized enhanced versions designated for elderly residents in long-term care facilities. Premier Cho Jung-tai has directed health and education authorities to coordinate closely with local governments to manage the spread, promote dual vaccination against COVID-19, and facilitate school-based immunization efforts. The initial phase of the rollout targets high-risk groups, including medical staff, young children, pregnant women, and individuals with chronic health conditions, with eligibility expanding to those aged 50 and above starting November 2.
