The Academy of Persian Language and Literature in Tehran has granted honorary membership to Hicabi Kırlangıç, the outgoing Turkish ambassador to Iran. This recognition acknowledges his significant academic work and his role in fostering cultural connections between the two nations. Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, the academy's president, commended the diplomat for his extensive translations of renowned Persian literary figures, such as Rumi, Hafez, and Saadi, into Turkish. Kırlangıç, a professor of Persian studies at Ankara University, expressed his appreciation for the honor and stated his intention to continue promoting Iranian culture after his diplomatic mission concludes. He is currently focused on translating the Divan-e Shams, further cementing his commitment to bridging Persian and Turkish linguistic traditions through scholarly research and translation.
