Fuel prices in the United Arab Emirates are set to decrease in November, marking the first reduction in four months. This shift contradicts market expectations, which anticipated further increases following a surge in global oil prices throughout October due to regional geopolitical instability. Super 98 petrol will now cost Dh4.16 per litre, representing a 5.5 per cent decline, while Special 95 and E-Plus 91 will see drops of 5.6 per cent and 5.7 per cent respectively. Diesel prices will also experience a slight reduction of 1 per cent to reach Dh4.75. Despite these adjustments, current fuel rates remain approximately 80 per cent higher than those recorded in February. Since the 2015 deregulation of the sector, the UAE has linked domestic fuel pricing to international oil market trends, although local adjustments do not always mirror global benchmarks perfectly.
