A research team from the College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University has introduced an artificial intelligence system designed to improve maternal and foetal medical services. Known as AI Scholar MaternaCare, the platform integrates ultrasound image analysis, clinical decision support, and automated reporting into one unified interface. By identifying anatomical structures and extracting vital measurements, the technology aims to increase the consistency and accessibility of prenatal care. The project, led by Dr. Mowafa Househ, Dr. Marco Agus, and Dr. Mahmood AlZubaidi, recently earned second place at the Ghain Mena Scale-Up Award. This achievement included a $17,500 grant, which will assist the team in advancing the platform from the research phase toward practical clinical implementation in medical settings.
