A group of nine wild elephants encroached upon a residential area in the Pak Mak subdistrict of Chaiya, Surat Thani, during the early hours of October 29. The animals, which originated from the vicinity of Kaeng Krung National Park, entered the village in search of food. The intrusion resulted in structural damage to a local home, which suffered from partial collapse and tilting. Additionally, various household items and electrical equipment were destroyed during the incident. The herd also caused extensive agricultural loss, uprooting numerous mature coconut and areca palm trees, along with a young durian tree. Local park rangers and community leaders have conducted an inspection of the site to assess the full extent of the destruction caused by the wildlife.
