The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has submitted a revision petition to the Colombo High Court. This legal action aims to challenge the Magistrate’s Court decision to release three individuals on bail. The suspects, including Rakitha Rajapakshe, the son of former Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, along with Charitha Abeysinghe and Waruna Handige Aruna Chathuranga, were previously detained. They face accusations regarding the solicitation of a 120 million rupee bribe from the spouse of the well-known drug trafficker Nandun Chinthaka Wickramaratne, also known as ‘Harak Kata’. The High Court is expected to review the commission's request today to determine if the bail order should be overturned.
