A representative from the United Nations Population Fund, Jocelyn Fenard, recently praised Qatar for its successful efforts in aligning demographic shifts with broader economic and social progress. Speaking during Qatar National Population Day 2026, Fenard highlighted the nation's notable improvements in sectors such as education, healthcare, and gender parity, including the increased involvement of women in the labor market. The event, organized by the National Planning Council alongside the Ministry of Public Health and the Permanent Population Committee, served as a forum to examine how population data informs national planning. Fenard emphasized that Qatar has demonstrated a sophisticated understanding of how demographic dynamics influence long-term growth, noting that the UNFPA remains committed to supporting these ongoing developmental initiatives within the country.
