Starting September 1, Indian citizens may enter Uzbekistan without a visa for stays up to 30 days, provided they possess valid multiple-entry visas from nations including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, and Schengen area members. This policy, enacted by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, requires travelers to present a return or onward flight ticket. The decision follows discussions between the Uzbek leadership and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Official data indicates a significant rise in Indian tourism to Uzbekistan, with visitor numbers reaching 80,900 in 2025. To further stimulate this growth, the Tourism Committee aims to target Indian families and collaborate with influencers and travel agencies. While Uzbekistan has eased entry requirements for Indians, Uzbek citizens remain subject to visa regulations when traveling to India, requiring online applications or embassy visits.
