President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has reviewed a series of proposals aimed at reducing pollution from greenhouse farms in Tashkent and its surrounding districts. Due to concerns over emissions during colder months, authorities plan to mandate a transition from coal to cleaner energy sources, such as natural gas, electricity, and solar power. Farms failing to comply with these environmental standards by December 1st may face operational suspensions. To facilitate this transition, the government is offering financial support, including subsidies and preferential loans for equipment upgrades. Furthermore, the initiative includes tax relief for household-operated greenhouses and grants for adopting green technology. The plan also introduces rigorous monitoring systems, utilizing drones and real-time data to track emissions. Additionally, the government intends to improve water management by establishing infrastructure for treating drainage water, while simultaneously promoting greenhouse development in regions with optimal climatic conditions.
