Over the past weekend, Workers' Party Member of Parliament Gerald Giam hosted Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing during a visit to the Bedok Reservoir constituency. The meeting occurred while Mr. Giam was conducting his routine weekly estate walk. The two officials met at a local coffee shop known as Happy Hawkers to engage in discussions with neighborhood residents. During the visit, Mr. Giam and his team were accompanied by People's Action Party grassroots volunteers. The MP utilized the opportunity to inspect local infrastructure, specifically focusing on the condition of playgrounds, the necessity for additional sheltered drop-off zones, and the implementation of barrier-free access ramps. Mr. Giam indicated that the observations gathered during this walk would be relayed to the Aljunied-Hougang Town Council to address the identified needs of the community.
