Recent ward conventions of the Nepali Congress, conducted on September 19 and 20, have resulted in the election of several Generation Z members to regional representative positions. These young individuals, who represent diverse professional backgrounds, are stepping into political roles across various rural municipalities. Notable examples include Milan Gharti Magar, who attained the position of ward chairperson in Pyuthan’s Naubahini Rural Municipality. Additionally, in Kalikot’s Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality, 22-year-old engineer Rajendra Jaisi and 18-year-old nurse Sunita Subedi were both selected as regional representatives. These appointments highlight an increasing involvement of younger citizens in the internal democratic processes of the Nepali Congress, as they begin to take on formal responsibilities within the party structure at the local level.
