The Zayed National Museum is set to debut its inaugural temporary exhibition this December, marking the institution's first anniversary. Titled 'Tracks Through Time: The Camel in Society, Trade and Art,' the showcase examines the deep-rooted importance of camels within Emirati heritage. The exhibition covers a vast timeline, ranging from the animal's historical influence on regional commerce and artistic creation to modern-day practices like racing and beauty pageants. A key feature of the display includes the debut of archaeological findings, such as bones from an extinct wild camel species unearthed in Baynunah, dating back to 4500-4000BC. Additionally, the museum will present Bronze Age remains discovered in Dubai, alongside evidence of early camel domestication from the Saruq Al Hadid site, providing a comprehensive look at the species' evolution alongside human civilization in the region.
