Originally assigned to oversee the cold-food station during the morning breakfast service at the World Trade Center, he was not present at the site when the tragedy occurred. Instead, Siby was at his residence spending time with his wife, who was pregnant at the time. This fortuitous adjustment to his professional duties ultimately ensured his safety during the catastrophic events that unfolded that morning.
