An Abu Dhabi court has found a woman guilty of child neglect under the UAE's Wadeema’s Law. The legal proceedings were initiated after the defendant permitted a young girl to remain unattended at a beach during late hours. Furthermore, the court determined that the woman failed to adequately monitor the child's digital activities. This lack of oversight reportedly led to the unauthorized circulation of the minor's photographs on social media platforms. Prosecutors argued that the defendant did not fulfill her duty to safeguard the child's moral well-being. Initially, the court mandated two months of community service as part of the sentencing for the failure to provide essential care and supervision. The case highlights the enforcement of federal regulations regarding child protection and parental responsibility in the digital age.
