The Commission for Air Quality Management has issued a directive requiring private and state-run offices in Delhi and five neighboring districts to implement a 50% work-from-home policy starting November 5 through November 20. This precautionary measure aims to mitigate the impact of anticipated spikes in air pollution surrounding the Diwali festival. The mandate applies to Gurugram, Faridabad, and Sonipat in Haryana, as well as Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar in Uttar Pradesh. Essential services and industrial facilities are excluded from these requirements. This initiative aligns with Delhi's broader Winter Action Plan, which previously established similar remote work protocols for the capital city to address seasonal environmental concerns.
