Haverim Mehalzim, an international network comprised of Israeli volunteers, provides support to compatriots who encounter accidents or disappear while traveling abroad. The organization was established by Nirit Rimon following the tragic drowning of her son in Mexico five years ago. The group recently demonstrated its operational capacity during a search mission on Mount Olympus in Greece. Dozens of volunteers were deployed to locate Ami Yogev, a missing Israeli citizen. Although the team successfully tracked his location, they ultimately discovered that the individual had passed away. This volunteer-led initiative continues to serve as a critical resource for Israelis navigating crises in distant locations, often coordinating complex search efforts in challenging terrain.
