The Bangladeshi government has introduced a new requirement for motorcycles to display front license plates to improve the identification of traffic offenders. This directive, finalized during a July 18 meeting on pollution control, aims to assist AI-integrated surveillance cameras in Dhaka with reading registration numbers more effectively. The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority and Dhaka Metropolitan Police are overseeing the implementation of this policy. Owners must ensure their vehicles comply with the new regulation by November 15. The authorities have established specific size requirements for these plates: 200 by 100 millimeters for scooters, and 285 by 50 millimeters for standard motorcycles. This measure is intended to strengthen road safety monitoring and ensure better accountability for traffic violations across the capital.
