A 25-year-old Chinese national visiting Sabah, Malaysia, narrowly avoided a sexual assault during her solo trip. According to reports, an 18-year-old security guard employed at her resort allegedly entered her room while she was sleeping. The victim awoke to find the suspect attempting to undress her. A physical struggle ensued, allowing the woman to break free from the attacker. Following the confrontation, she spent the remainder of the night concealed in nearby bushes to ensure her safety. Local law enforcement authorities have since taken the suspect into custody. The incident occurred in the early hours of September 19, prompting an investigation into the security breach at the accommodation facility.
