The popular coastal destination of Kuakata is currently facing significant degradation due to severe sea erosion and a lack of maintenance. Recent tidal activity has destroyed sections of the embankment, the main road, and the local tourist police station at the zero point. The beach is now cluttered with debris, broken infrastructure, and poorly placed geobags, which pose safety risks to visitors. Furthermore, the area suffers from unregulated commercial activities, including vendors occupying the sand and the unauthorized use of motorcycles on the beach. These combined factors are negatively impacting the aesthetic appeal and accessibility of the site, making it difficult for tourists to navigate the shoreline safely. The current state of the beach highlights an urgent need for structural repairs and stricter enforcement of existing regulations to preserve the environment.
