Rastriya Swatantra Party member Khagendra Sunar did not attend a scheduled parliamentary subcommittee session this Thursday. His absence follows a directive from his political party, which has prohibited him from engaging in public or formal duties while an internal investigation is conducted. The inquiry concerns a leaked audio recording in which Sunar allegedly uses derogatory language and issues threats toward a woman. The subcommittee, established by the House of Representatives' Public Accounts Committee, met at Singha Durbar to deliberate on the scope of its investigation regarding uniform procurement for various police forces, including the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force. Sunar will remain restricted from official activities until the party concludes its review of the allegations.
