Saurav Das, a co-convener of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has publicly claimed that authorities intend to detain him and several other prominent members of the group. This assertion comes shortly before a scheduled demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on October 10. The CJP is demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing alleged irregularities during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. While Das did not present specific evidence for the potential arrests, he stated that the movement remains committed to its cause regardless of state intervention. The group, which recently held a large gathering in Mumbai, maintains that their upcoming protest will be peaceful and focused on advocating for electoral integrity. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has dismissed claims of procedural misconduct regarding the electoral roll revision process.
