A seven-judge panel of the Supreme Court is reportedly considering delaying its decision regarding the ongoing legal conflict between freedom of speech and legislative privileges. During recent proceedings, both Attorney General R Venkataramani and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta expressed their consensus that the matter might have reached a point where it is now considered academic. Given this assessment from the government's top legal representatives, the court is expected to hold off on delivering a definitive ruling on the constitutional balance between parliamentary immunity and individual expression rights.
