The Portuguese forward, who secured multiple European titles during his time with Manchester United and Real Madrid, is currently pursuing his first victory in the Asian continental competition. The tournament has undergone significant structural changes, now featuring an expanded league stage that includes 32 clubs. This represents an increase of eight teams compared to previous seasons. The Western Region segment of the competition consists of 16 clubs representing nations including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Iraq. Al Nassr is scheduled to commence their campaign with a match in the United Arab Emirates this Tuesday.
