Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rubi Kumari, has pledged her full monthly salary to assist those impacted by the severe flooding in the Bhotekoshi River region of Rasuwa. She has formally directed the Federal Parliament Secretariat to transfer these funds directly into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to bolster ongoing rescue, relief, and rehabilitation operations. This initiative follows similar actions taken by various parliamentarians, including representatives from the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, and the Nepal Communist Party. Numerous lawmakers have already requested that the Parliament Secretariat deduct portions of their earnings to provide financial aid to the affected communities. These collective efforts highlight a growing legislative response to the humanitarian crisis caused by the recent natural disaster.
