An 85-year-old resident of Harmony Village @ Bukit Batok, Soh Hock Lye, suffered a hip injury following a fall in her bathroom on September 2. Despite activating the emergency alert system installed in her community care apartment, the woman received no immediate assistance. After waiting for help that failed to arrive, she managed to crawl to her front door to seek aid from nearby residents. A neighbor eventually heard her calls, leading to an ambulance being summoned more than two hours after the initial accident. Her daughter, Mary Aw, reported that her mother, who has resided in the facility for two years, feared for her life during the prolonged wait for medical intervention.
