Two Belgian citizens were successfully rescued on Wednesday after their light aircraft was forced to perform an emergency landing in the Black Sea. The two-seat Aerospool WT9 Dynamic plane departed from Batumi, Georgia, and was en route to Ordu-Giresun Airport when the pilot reported mechanical difficulties with the engine. Authorities stated that the aircraft attempted to divert toward Rize-Artvin Airport but was ultimately unable to reach the runway, resulting in a landing on the water. The Turkish Interior Ministry and the Rize Governor’s Office confirmed the incident and the subsequent rescue operation. Emergency teams were coordinated by the Main Search and Rescue Coordination Center to assist the individuals involved in the crash.
