Garment factory employees in Dhaka's Mirpur district attempted to organize street demonstrations on Monday morning. Small groups of workers tried to access main thoroughfares via side streets in the Senpara Parbata and Proshika intersection areas. Law enforcement officers intervened to prevent these gatherings, utilizing tear gas and physical dispersal tactics to clear the protesters. Tensions escalated near the Mirpur-2 stadium as workers arriving from Rupnagar were blocked by police units around 11:00 am. These incidents follow earlier reports of labor unrest involving road blockades on the Dhaka-Tangail highway, where border guard forces were also deployed. The situation remains volatile as authorities continue to monitor efforts by factory staff to occupy major transit routes throughout the capital.
