The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is currently investigating the discovery of oil patches in the waters surrounding Pulau Sebarok, Pulau Semakau, and Selat Pauh. Authorities were first notified of the contamination on the morning of November 1, 2026. Subsequent aerial inspections verified the presence of oil in these specific locations, though no slicks were observed near Sentosa, the Southern Islands, or the East and West Coasts. In response, the MPA has engaged cleanup contractors and instructed local terminals to utilize spill mitigation equipment. Relevant government agencies remain on alert to safeguard coastal areas. While vessels have been requested to report any further sightings, the MPA confirmed that maritime traffic and port operations continue to function without disruption.
