A 42-year-old man was taken into custody following a vehicle accident on Raffles Avenue on September 16. The incident involved a Mercedes-Benz sedan that veered off the road and struck a Chinese tourist. Footage recorded by a colleague of the victim shortly after the collision shows the driver exiting his vehicle and initially attempting to distance himself from the event. When questioned by witnesses, the man claimed he was merely a passerby and stated he had contacted his spouse rather than emergency services. Although he reportedly acknowledged consuming alcohol at the scene, he subsequently retracted this admission. Authorities have since arrested the individual in connection with the drink driving incident, which occurred near the Esplanade area.
