Educational facilities in the Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts of Nepal are attempting to restart academic activities following devastating floods. However, administrators face significant challenges as more than 500 students remain unaccounted for. Many children who survived the disaster lost their essential school supplies, including textbooks and uniforms, during their escape. Principals, such as Madhav Lamichhane of Nilkantha Secondary School, have called for students to report back to assess the total number of attendees and determine the quantity of replacement materials required. The recovery process is further complicated by severe infrastructure damage, with numerous roads destroyed, preventing easy movement between communities. Despite these obstacles, local authorities are pushing for a return to normalcy by reopening schools this September.
