The Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) in Kelantan has emphasized the necessity of improved coordination between various enforcement bodies to effectively monitor the state's borders. Commander Siti Khadijah Hamzah noted that while AKPS maintains authority over five official entry points—including Rantau Panjang, Pengkalan Kubor, Bukit Bunga, Tok Bali Port, and Sultan Ismail Petra Airport—it lacks jurisdiction over non-gazetted routes. Consequently, the agency relies on collaborative efforts with other security forces, such as the Royal Malaysia Police, the General Operations Force, and the Malaysian Army, to secure these unauthorized areas. This unified approach is intended to strengthen the overall oversight of the region and prevent illicit cross-border activities that occur outside of designated checkpoints.
