During discussions regarding the draft of the National Climate Change Policy 2083, various stakeholders have called on the Nepalese government to prioritize practical execution. Although the proposed document is viewed positively in terms of its objectives, critics point out that the current framework lacks clarity on how these goals will be achieved on the ground. Participants emphasized that for the policy to be effective, it must include specific mechanisms for monitoring and accountability. The feedback highlights a gap between theoretical planning and the actual capacity for environmental action within the country. Consequently, the government is being encouraged to refine the draft to ensure that climate adaptation and mitigation strategies are not just well-defined on paper but are also feasible to implement across different sectors.
