A group of fifteen chief prosecutors from the National Capital Region has officially expressed their unanimous support for Supreme Court Associate Justice Rodil Zalameda to become the next Chief Justice of the Philippines. This endorsement follows the upcoming retirement of current Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, scheduled for November 6. In a formal resolution approved during a meeting in Muntinlupa City on September 2, the NCR Chief Prosecutors Association highlighted Zalameda’s legal expertise, leadership skills, and long-standing commitment to public service. The association members believe that Zalameda possesses the necessary professional and personal qualities to effectively lead the Supreme Court and bolster public trust in the national judicial system. This collective backing positions Zalameda as a primary candidate for the vacancy left by Gesmundo.
