Captain Smit Machchhar has provided a detailed account of a harrowing mid-air incident involving his co-pilot aboard a Flydubai Boeing 737. During a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, the first officer allegedly launched a violent assault on the captain using an axe, subsequently forcing the aircraft into a rapid 17,000-foot descent. Emirati authorities have characterized the event as a premeditated terrorist hijacking attempt targeting the 172 individuals on board. Despite sustaining injuries, Captain Machchhar managed to regain control of the cockpit door and prevent the catastrophe. Currently recovering in an Abu Dhabi hospital, the captain described how the attacker showed no prior warning signs during the initial two hours of the flight. The captain is being recognized for his actions in stabilizing the aircraft and ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew members during the emergency.
