A group of wildlife enthusiasts in Pabna successfully intervened to rescue fourteen lesser whistling ducks from a local poultry trader. The birds were being transported for sale when members of the Nature and Wildlife Conservation Community engaged the trader, explaining the legal restrictions regarding the trade of wild species. Following this discussion, the trader pledged to cease the sale of wild birds and cooperated in the release of the ducks. The animals were taken to a lake located within the Pabna University of Science and Technology campus. Initially fatigued, the ducks spent time resting in the water before eventually flying off together at dusk to find a secure environment. This incident highlights the ongoing efforts by local volunteers to protect regional wildlife and enforce environmental regulations through community awareness and direct action.
