Google has implemented a significant update to its Google Photos service, halving the duration that deleted media remains in the trash folder. Previously, users had a 60-day window to restore accidentally removed images or videos. Under the new policy, this timeframe has been shortened to 30 days. Once this period elapses, the files are permanently erased from the system and cannot be retrieved. This adjustment was recently communicated to users via in-app notifications and updated documentation on the official Google support website. The change, which has already taken effect, requires users to be more vigilant about their trash management to avoid the irreversible loss of their stored digital content.
