Vince Dizon, the departing Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), announced significant administrative actions taken during his tenure to combat corruption. In a joint media briefing with his successor, Giovanni Lopez, Dizon revealed that the agency has blacklisted 20 contractors and suspended nine others. Furthermore, over 80 department employees were removed from their roles as part of these integrity-focused reforms. Dizon emphasized the necessity of maintaining these initiatives and handed over documentation regarding additional potentially problematic officials to Lopez. As Dizon prepares to resume his previous leadership role at the Department of Transportation, he cautioned that further disciplinary actions against contractors and personnel may occur in the near future as investigations continue.
